Weed Out the Risk is an interactive, harm-reduction-based educational program that informs youth and young adults of the risks associated with driving high or being a passenger in a vehicle with someone who is driving under the influence of Cannabis. Using a non-judgment approach, Weed Out the Risk challenges youth misconceptions about cannabis driving impairment. Weed Out the Risk was developed to present the risks of cannabis-impaired driving. This program is delivered by a trained facilitator to a classroom or community group of youth 13–24 years old. Weed Out the Risk was launched in the Greater Toronto Area in 2014. The program received funding from Health Canada to develop a national focus in 2018. As of July 2020, over 160,000 youth have participated in the program.
